To get the most out of your quad experience, the Federation recommends taking an ATV rider course after which you will receive your certificate of competence and knowledge. It should be reminded that this certification is mandatory for users aged 16 or 17, as well as club members using a modified cargo box seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For an $85 fee, the 4 to 6 hours training can be taken in every region in Qu\u00e9bec, and is delivered by instructors certified by the Canada Safety Counsel. Participants must provide their equipment: vehicle, helmet, gloves and boots. A valid ID must also be presented to confirm the driver\u2019s age in case of a minor (16 or 17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des clubs quads du Qu\u00e9bec is an agent of the Government of Qu\u00e9bec for off-road driving training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab If the operator is a minor, he must hold a certificate obtained from an officer authorized by the Government and that attests that the operator has the competence and knowledge required to operate an off-highway vehicle. This paragraph does not apply to the holder of a driver\u2019s licence issued by an administrative authority other than the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l\u2019assurance automobile du Qu\u00e9bec authorizing the holder to operate a road vehicle on a public highway within the meaning of the Highway Safety Code (chapter C-24.2).

To operate an off-highway vehicle on a public highway as provided in this Act, a person must hold a licence authorizing him under the Highway Safety Code to drive a road vehicle on such a highway and must comply with the conditions and restrictions attached to the licence.. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any user carrying a passenger on a quad bike that has been modified by the addition of an add-on seat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Despite section 21, a quad bike on which the manufacturer has not installed a passenger seat may be modified to add one provided it is installed according to the instructions and recommendations of the seat manufacturer.

An operator of a vehicle modified in accordance with the first paragraph must hold a certificate obtained from an officer authorized by the Government attesting that the operator has the competence and knowledge required to operate such a vehicle when transporting a passenger. The Canadian AQCC Safety Institute (CASI) \u2013 a division of the All-Terrain Quad Council of Canada (AQCC) – has joined forces with the ATV Safety Institute (ASI) and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV) to offer CASI\u2019s new ATV RiderCourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hands-on training allows students to expand their security knowledge and to practice basic driving skills in a controlled environment under supervision by a certified instructor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
